Fall 2020 Blender | Verge3D | Immersive learning | Augmented and Virtual Reality
The project is inspired by the love for arts and the desire to create immersive visiting experiences to galleries/museums that are restrained under covid-19. I built a virtual MoMA through using Verge3D, Blender, VisualStudioCode, and other state-of-the-art programming technologies. I also wrote the visual logic code in JavaScript, which is a first-person mode that allowed people to zoom in or zoom out in the setting.
This 3D/Virtual Reality (VR) art gallery, named VR MoMA with two exhibition rooms. One exhibition room features western-themed paintings and photographs, and the one features Chinese artworks. Visitors can experience the artworks using their headsets as if they are walking around in a real MoMA; they can not only look 360 degrees inside the rooms but also move around to look closer at the masterpieces, click to see the descriptions of them, just as they would in a physical museum. VR MoMA also incorporates a chat page where visitors could send chat messages to each other.
